Kandersteg 2026

What are your plans for the summer of 2026? Well we have an adventure for you! Join Pocumtuc Lodge on a trip to Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland in late June of 2026. Important Information:

• As has historically been the case, participants must be current, dues paying members of Pocumtuc lodge as of March 1st. 
• The estimated cost of the trip will be $1900. There will be fundraising opportunities available to help offset costs.
• Similar to Philmont, there will be physical restrictions to certain activities. Participants must be in good physical health to attend.
• If you are planning on going, we recommend starting the process of getting your passport now. The current wait time for getting a passport is 4-6 weeks, but that could change in an instant.

Adult Registration Information:

As mentioned early in this process, we will be enforcing a youth-to-adult ratio to keep the focus on our youth participants. Additionally, Kandersteg from June through August is youth-centric, much like summer camp or a jamboree, which creates an activity-restrictive environment for adults.

After reviewing the youth registration numbers, contingent and lodge leadership have decided to make two additional adult slots available by lottery. However, preference will be given to parents of youth attending the trip. (To qualify, you must be registered in both Scouting and the Pocumtuc Lodge and be YPT-compliant.)

Please understand that over 23 adults have expressed serious interest in this trip. Over the past few months, we have listened to input and guidance from youth leaders, adult and council leaders, and Kandersteg staff to determine our path forward.

The form will close on February 27th to allow time for applicant selection. If selected, trip leadership will reach out to you by March 3rd at the latest. A deposit payment of $250 will be expected at the time of contact.
