A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Silver Beaver Award - the highest honor a council can bestow upon adult volunteers who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service.  We are pleased to announce the 2017 Silver Beaver recipients:

Jeff Sattler

Jeff Sattler has been a member of the Western Massachusetts Council’s Executive Board for over eight years. He has been a key contact in the community for fundraising and has been instrumental in securing donations for many of the improvements being made at the Moses Scout Reservation. Jeff has also served as the Council’s nominating committee chair for the last two years.

John Benjamin

John Benjamin currently serves as the General Knox District Commissioner and as a Committee Member of Troop 821 in Westfield.  You can often find John lending a hand at any given council event, MassJam, and around the Moses Scout Reservation.  When time allows, he is an auto repair technician at Brill’s Auto Sales.  John lives in Westfield with his wife, Mary, and Eagle Scout son, Cody.

Bill Hoefler

Bill Hoefler is the Scoutmaster of Troop 303 South Hadley.  He has also served as Council Popcorn Kernel, and led a council contingent on a trek to the Philmont Scout Ranch.  Bill is the owner of Interskate 91 North.  He lives in South Hadley with his wife, Tanya, and their three sons, all Boy Scouts.
