Increase in Insurance Cost
Insurance costs for the Western Massachusetts Council amount to nearly $10/per youth and adult members. For the past several years we have only collected $4 per youth and adult members for this expense. However, due to increasing costs across the board, the Council -- as a non-profit entity -- can no longer absorb the additional $6/per person for insurance (based on the current rates). Therefore, beginning NEXT YEAR (i.e. January 2020), we will be raising the insurance fees collected per youth and adult member to $7. As such, the Council will continue to supplement the insurance costs, and we will do everything in our power to contain these, and other, costs so that we can focus on delivering a strong program to the youth we serve.
We realize that this increase is a year away, but we wanted to give you as much time as possible for your budget planning.
Please contact the Council office at 413.594.9196 if you have any questions.
