OA Ceremonies

Introduction

Welcome to the Pocumtuc Lodge Ceremonies Team page!

Here, you can schedule a ceremony for your troop, pack, crew or ship. A list of all of the common ceremonies we perform and the script(s) we use can be found under the Resources section.

Schedule a Ceremony

When scheduling a ceremony, please ensure that we have ample notice before the event. Preferrably, it would be at least two months in advance. This ensures that our team chairman has enough time to gather a full team for your ceremony.

If - for some reason - we are not able to gather a full team for your ceremony, we will give you at minimum a one week notice. Sadly, not everyone is always available.

Ceremonies

Four Winds Ceremony:
Typically used as a short, pre-event opener.

Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony (Long):
Covers the opening, presentation of the badge, neckerchief and pins, and closing. This is a whole-show kind of ceremony where we do all the talking for you. We open with personal introductions (of the roles we are playing), and a four-winds ceremony. We test the resolve of the Eagle Candidate and query the Scoutmaster for his approval. We then move into the presentation of the badge, neckerchief and pins. We call upon an individual from the Unit to present the Eagle Charge, and when finished, close the ceremony.

Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony (Short):
Covers the opening of the court of honor only. We test the resolve of the Eagle Candidate and query the Scoutmaster for his approval. We then congratulate him on his journey through Scouting.

Cub Scout Crossover:
Covers the entire crossover ceremony. We open with a four-winds ceremony and talk about Akaela, and his role in Cub Scouts. We work with the Unit to perform the crossover, and have the Unit handle the welcoming section. Finally, we close with a congratulatory sentiment.

Custom Ceremonies:
If none of these templates fit the bill, we will work with you to write and create a custom-written ceremony in the likeness of the event at hand and the lore of the Order of the Arrow. We will make any change requested, so long as it fits the theme and feel of the ceremony. **Please note that if you do request a custom-written ceremony, communication should be frequent and direct. Also, due to the nature of a custom ceremony, our team may not be able to memorize all of their lines in time for your request, please provide a podium that they may work from.
