What is MassJam?

MassJam is a large camporee held on Cape Cod and hosted by the councils in Massachusetts along with Narragansett Council and Connecticut Rivers Council. This event is held every five years with attendance of 5,000 youth and adults expected. This is the closest to a National Jamboree that many Scouts get.

Who Can Attend MassJam?

This event is open to Troops, Crews, Posts, and Ships. Particpants must plan to attend for the entire weekend, there are no day visitors allowed.

In keeping with the Guide to Safe Scouting, Webelos are not allowed to particpate in this event since they can only attend as day participants and are threrfore not allowed. Do not invite Webelos or Arrow of Lights to attend with your troop.

Registration is Now Open!

The fee for MassJam 2023 is $40 per person if registered and paid by 9.15.23, after 9.15.23 the cost is $45/person.

Reserve your site today with a $100 deposit (non-refundable but applied to your registration), give us an estimated headcount of youth and adults, and finalize and pay the balance by September 15. Register at https://scoutingevent.com/251-MassJam2023.

Staff Needed!

With an event of this size, we are looking for volunteers to assist on the staff. There are a number of opportunites, both full-time and part-time, available for service.

Full-Time Staff

The fee for full-time staff is $5 for youth and $10 for adults. You have the option of eating with your unit or in your subcamp or you can eat with the staff at a cost of $30 for youth and $65 for adults.

OA Service crops is a fee of $35 which includes meals for the weekend.

Part-Time Staff

If you are attending with your unit and will have some time to help, we could also use your assistance. For example, you might choose to help with one of the Action Centers for three hours Saturday afternoon. In this case, you will register with your unit and eat with them. You do not need to register as staff.
