Cub Scout / Webelos Resident Camp

Summer Camp Status

It is with great regret we inform you that the Western Massachusetts Council will not operate in-person summer camp programs for the 2020 season as a result of significant uncertainties regarding the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately, we simply do not have enough timely, clear, and data-driven guidance to safely operate summer camp with the quality program that you would expect from the Council during this global health pandemic.
While nothing can replace the excitement and fun of our camp experiences, we are excited to announce a collaboration with the Connecticut Rivers Council to offer Camp Kinda-Like-A as an innovative alternative experience providing traditional summer camp programs in a virtual setting. We are also planning to offer a variety of fall weekend programs at our Horace A. Moses Scout Reservation, in addition to our Woronoco Heights Outdoor Adventures.

Communications are being sent to the primary contact listed on each individual or unit reservation outlining the process and options for reallocating or refunding all prepaid camp fees, our campership recipients about usage at Camp Kind-A-Like-A, and our incredible camp staff.

Thank you for your patience as we will process your request as quickly as possible. Our staff continues to work remotely and may not have full access to all systems.

Here are the dates for 2020!

Full Week: July 26 - 31

Short Week: July 26 - 29

Scouts are encouraged to "earn their own way", and the Western Massachusetts Council is prepared to help.

Special assistance is also available for qualifying families.  Just complete the 2020 Campership Application (available below) and submit it to the Scout Service Center. Please submit Campership Applications by April 1, 2020. Applications may be accepted after this date, but will be subject to available campership funds remaining.

Den Chief Training

Do you have Den Chiefs that are interested in spending a few more days in camp?  There is now an exclusive opportunity for them to do so at Cub Scout Resident Camp, by taking a multi-day Den Chief Training.

Pre-Camp Meeting

The Pre-Camp meeting for Cub Scout and Webelos Resident Camps will be Held in the Manor House at the Moses Scout Reservation on July 18 beginning at 7:30 pm.

Provisional Campers

In some cases, the pack may not be able to attend camp under their own leadership. If a Cub Scout still wishes to attend camp, he and an adult may attend as provisional campers. The camp staff will place these Cubs with other units for the week of camp (short or long). The same fees, including early bird and sibling discounts all apply to provisional Cub Scouts. An adult MUST accompany any Cub Scout who is not attending with their pack.
