Metacomet District has not gathered since 2023 to recognize and thank our adult leaders who are making significant contributions to Scouting. We are bringing back the tradition of annually recognizing the service and accomplishments of those who bring quality Scouting programs to our youth.

Please register online before March 18 

The cost is $35 per person, which includes dinner and helps to defray the cost of awards being presented.

Nominations and applications to recognize Scouters come from individuals, unit committees, and charter organizations. Please take some time to consider the contributions of Scouters in your unit and submit a nomination so we can recognize and thank them.

 

All nominations and applications must be submitted by March 20,2026

• Training Awards

These awards are position specific for registered Scouters who have completed training for their position and who meet the tenure requirements.  The requirements and applications are available at https://www.scouting.org/awards/awards-central/

  

• Leadership Award

Registered adult Scouters who do more than expected are giving outstanding service to youth at the of a unit or district level may be nominated for this District award.

  

• Sparkplug Award

Scouters who show high Scout Spirit, who are making significant contributions and inspire youth and adults alike and who provide the “spark” that keeps the Scouting program exciting.

• Certificate of Appreciation

 Recognize adult leaders and others who have helped and supported your unit and show Scout spirit

• Veteran award.

After five years of registered service in Scouting America, an adult may, upon application, receive the designation of “Veteran,” provided the person agrees to live up to the Scouting obligations; to keep local Scouting authorities in the community in which residing informed as to availability for service; and further, to be as active in the promotion of the cause of Scouting as circumstances and conditions permit
