The Impact of the George W. P. Magee Fund

George W. Magee Fund

Throughout camp, many buildings and facilities bear signs recognizing the generosity of the George W. Magee Memorial Trust Fund, such as the pavilion on the parade field. Established through the vision and philanthropy of George W. P. Magee, this fund continues to provide annual support to Scout camps across Massachusetts. His enduring legacy ensures that generations of Scouts benefit from well-maintained facilities and opportunities for growth, adventure, and learning. During summer camp, participants are introduced to Mr. Magee’s remarkable story and the lasting impact of his commitment to Scouting.

George W. P. Magee Campwide Game

Each week of summer camp, we honor George W. P. Magee with George W. P. Magee Campwide Game. The event begins with a short presentation highlighting Mr. Magee’s life, the legacy of his foundation, and the lasting impact its support has had on Moses Scout Reservation.

To further share his story, large laminated posters featuring Mr. Magee’s biography and portrait sketch are displayed at the Manor House, Trading Post, and Magee Pavilion throughout camp. These displays help Scouts and leaders alike learn about the history and generosity that continue to shape their camp experience today.
