Chalk It Up Contest!

Overview

Scouting America Western Massachusetts Council is excited to host a Unit Chalk Art Competition running through Nov 10 2025! Scouts will work together to create a chalk masterpiece that celebrates the spirit of Scouting.

Prizes

  •  1st Place – $300

  •  2nd Place – $200

  •  3rd Place – $100

  • $50 Participation Award 

Theme

“Scouting – Your Way!”
Your chalk art can showcase:

The 12 Points of the Scout Law:
Trustworthy • Loyal • Helpful • Friendly • Courteous • Kind • Obedient • Cheerful • Thrifty • Brave • Clean • Reverent

Scouting Adventures & Activities:
Camping • Hiking • Pinewood Derby • Fishing • Art • Climbing • Archery • Biking • Swimming • Cooking • Community Service — and more!

Requirements

  •  Create a 3x6 ft chalk drawing (sidewalk or wall)
  • Include BeAScout.org in the design
  • Share the chalk art on your unit’s public social media page

Important Dates

  • Deadline for submissions: Nov 10, 2025

  • Winners announced: November 17, 2025

Judging

Entries will be reviewed by the Western MA Council Executive Board and scored on:

  • Creativity & Originality

  • Artistic Quality & Effort

  • Relevance to Theme

  • Inclusion of Required Elements

  • Overall Impact
