Chalk It Up Contest!

Overview

Western Massachusetts Council of Scouting America invites schools to compete in a chalk art contest!

 Showcase your class chalk art.

Prizes

  •  1st Place – $500

  •  2nd Place – $250

  • 3th Place – $100

Theme: Scouting

Your artwork can be inspired by:

The 12 Points of the Scout Law:
Trustworthy • Loyal • Helpful • Friendly • Courteous • Kind • Obedient • Cheerful • Thrifty • Brave • Clean • Reverent

Scouting Adventures & Activities:
Rock climbing • Archery • Tent camping • Bike riding • Art • Swimming • Hiking • Pinewood Derby • Fort building • Cooking • Fishing • Community service

Be creative — all artistic submissions are welcome!

Requirements

To be considered, each school must:

  •  Create a 3x6 foot chalk drawing
  •  Include BeAScout.org in the artwork
  • Share the chalk art on the school’s social media page

Important Dates

  • Deadline for submissions: Nov 10, 2025 

  • Winners announced: November 17, 2025

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated by the Western Massachusetts Council Executive Board based on:

  • Creativity & Originality

  • Artistic Quality & Effort

  • Relevance to Theme

  • Inclusion of Required Elements

  • Overall Impact
