Wilderness First Aid

Why attend? This is a CPR and 16-hour ECSI Wilderness First Aid course for Scout Leaders, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts 14 years and older. We will cover CPR, First Aid, patient assessment, musculoskeletal and soft tissue injury, splinting, dealing with bad weather, and non-standard equipment. You will gain confidence in your ability to make decisions and create positive outcomes in unpredictable situations through new learning, practical exercises, and outdoor scenarios. This course is required to attend any of the BSA High Adventure Bases, such as Summit, Philmont, Northern Tier, and Sea Base.

You can sleep indoors or tent outside. Please bring personal sleeping gear, a chair, and any personal gear you feel appropriate.

This course is limited to 18 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Scouts must be at least 14 years old.
