Journey to Excellence Forums and Seminars

A large of the District's role is to support the work of the local Units and to help ensure they are offering a quality program to their Scouts. Part of the toolkit to ensure this happens is to work with each Unit as they strive to attain Gold Unit status on the Journey to Excellence scoresheet.

To best use the information being presented, a Unit should  review their 2011 JTE scoresheet and see what areas they could improve upon most. Then, send an adult or two to those presentations so they can bring back what they have learned. These forums and seminars, taught by local leaders who are experts in the field, will include:

Preparing the Annual Recharter
Program Planning
Patrol Method
Outdoor Camping Opportunities
Community Service Opportunities
Preparing the Annual Unit Budget

Exhibits and Activities

The exhibits and activities will be geared toward the whole family. Scouts, Scouters, parents and siblings will all find something of interest here. The exhibits and activities we know will be there include:

Maximizing Solar Power Usage
Order of the Arrow and Pocumtuc Lodge
Eastern Mountain Sports
Village Ambulance Explorer Post 911
Local Scouting History
Raingutter Regatta
Geocaching
Local Area Hiking
