Join Us at General Knox Roundtables

...at West Springfield United Methodist Church, 800 Amostown Road, West Springfield.  Roundtables are held on the first Monday of the month, unless that conflicts with a holiday  (see the 2011-2012 General Knox District Calendar or the Western Massachusetts Council Calendar).   Roundtables begin promptly at 7:00 PM with an opening ceremony and general announcements.  Coffee and snacks are available throughout the evening.  We try to finish by 8:30 so there's plenty of time for you to get home and watch the game or try your new Scouting ideas on the kids.  Attend Roundtable to complete training requirements for your position training award.

Cub Scout Roundtables are developed by our Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner Ellie Matrow, an experienced Cub leader formerly of Pack 168 in Monson and director of 2011 Cub Scout resident camp.  You'll have an evening of hands-on, theme-related fun making crafts, learning songs, and perhaps even creating great snacks to eat. Boy Scout Roundtables meet in a separate room and are developed by Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioners Dan Shea, former Boy Scout resident camp director at Camp Moses, and Dale Hatch, Scoutmaster at Troop 171 in Hampden.

General Knox District Earns Silver

Thanks to the youth members, parents, unit leaders, and district-level volunteers who helped the General Knox District achieve a Silver rating on our 2011 Journey to Excellence.  District leadership led the way with two Golds for training and our meeting schedule.  The district received Silver ratings for unit achievement, youth retention, finance, unit service, and its nominating committee performance.  Bronze ratings were earned for unit leader training, advancements reported by units, and chartering organization contacts.  This was a group effort, and the contributions from all levels of participation are much appreciated.  Everyone in General Knox District should be proud of their collective achievement.
